Who We Are
About KforC
Knowledge for Children Cameroon (KforC) is a non-governmental organization founded in 2005 by Mr. Maimo Jacob Shiynyuy, an educationist, and Mr. Anorld Roozenbeek, a development worker from the Netherlands. KforC is dedicated to improving access to quality education and empowering vulnerable communities in Cameroon. With its head office located in Kumbo, Bui Division of the North West Region of Cameroon, KforC addresses key challenges such as limited access to education, poverty, inadequate school infrastructure, and insufficient teacher training. Through various programs focused on teacher development, educational sponsorships and community empowerment, KforC strives to create a more inclusive, equitable, and sustainable education system for all.
Knowledge for Children (KforC) was founded in Cameroon with main objective to improve the quality of education in rural areas. KforC is registered under the Cameroon Ministry of Territorial Administration and works in collaboration with the external services of the Ministry of Basic Education, Youth and Civic Education and Social Affairs. KforC has her international offices in Masaka, Uganda and Utrecht, in The Netherlands.
Organization Background
History of KforC
Knowledge for Children (KforC) was founded in 2005 by Mr. Maimo Jacob Shiynyuy, an educationist and Mr. Arnorld Roozenbeek, a Development Worker based in the Netherlands. KforC was founded with the goal of addressing the educational challenges faced by vulnerable children in Cameroon. Recognizing the barriers of poverty, inadequate infrastructure, and limited access to quality education, KforC set out to create meaningful change in underserved communities. Over the years, the organization has expanded its initiatives to over 170 primary schools and communities in the North West and Adamawa regions of Cameroon, focusing on breaking down the systemic issues that hinder educational development. Through strategic partnerships, grassroots efforts, and dedicated community engagement, KforC has become a key player in advancing education in Cameroon.
