Overview of Knowledge for Children (KforC) Programs and Initiatives

We engage a holistic approach to education and community development

01

Teacher Capacity Development

KforC focuses on enhancing the skills and capabilities of primary school  teachers through workshops, and training activities. By equipping teachers with modern teaching methods and educational tools, the organization aims to improve the quality of education delivered in schools, particularly in rural areas.

02

School Facilities and Learning Resources

KforC works to improve the infrastructure of schools, providing essential resources such as textbooks, teaching aids, and learning materials. Additionally, KforC invests in constructing and upgrading school buildings to create safe, conducive, and functional learning environments for both pupils and teachers.

03

Education Sponsorship for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs)

One of our core programs is providing education sponsorships to orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs). This program ensures that children from low-income and disadvantaged backgrounds receive access to schooling, eliminating financial barriers that prevent them from attending school.

04

Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)

KforC implements water, sanitation, and hygiene programs to ensure that schools and communities have access to clean water and proper sanitation facilities. This initiative aims to improve the health and well-being of pupils, staff, and families, while fostering a safer and more hygienic learning environment.

05

Youth Empowerment

KforC offers youth empowerment programs that focus on developing essential life skills, career training, and leadership opportunities. These initiatives provide young people with the tools they need to become active contributors to their communities and succeed in their personal and professional lives. This is achieved through strategic partnerships with vocational training centers.

06

Pupils Capacity Development

Through various educational programs, KforC invests in developing the skills and capacities of students. This includes enhancing literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking skills, as well as offering extracurricular activities that promote personal growth, creativity, and social engagement. This aspect of our program is further strengthened through reading clubs and reading competition activities.

07

Community Capacity Development

KforC works directly with local communities to build their capacity for sustainable development. By strengthening the knowledge and skills of local leaders, parents, and community members, the organization fosters greater community involvement in education and development initiatives.

08

Strategic Partnerships

KforC collaborates with various partners, including government agencies, international organizations,  non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and local stakeholders, to amplify the impact of its programs. These partnerships help strengthen resources, expand outreach, and enhance the effectiveness of the initiatives aimed at improving education and community well-being.

09

Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Awareness and Prevention

KforC is committed to addressing gender-based violence by raising awareness, providing support, and advocating for the protection of vulnerable children, particularly girls. Through education and community engagement, the organization works to prevent gender-based violence and promote gender equality within schools and communities.

Knowledge for Children (KforC) also runs a public library in Kumbo

Bui Division, Cameroon. This library serves as an important resource for students, teachers, and the local community, offering access to books, educational materials, and a quiet space for learning and research. By providing a wealth of knowledge and fostering a culture of reading, the library plays a crucial role in supporting education, promoting literacy, and empowering individuals in the community to improve their academic and personal development.
